Lac Bernard
Set high above Lac Bernard, this cottage is shaped by its relationship to the forest, rocky terrain, and water below. An exposed structure of Douglas fir posts and beams establishes a natural rhythm across the building, while the elevated main level places the living spaces among the treetops with expansive views across the lake.
A simple linear plan allows every room to face the water, with glazing and subtle spatial transitions balancing openness and privacy. Stone excavated during construction was reused throughout the site and lower level, while warm wood and restrained detailing complement the exposed structure. The cottage feels both grounded in the terrain and immersed in its natural setting.
