This renovation and addition reimagine an existing bungalow along the Rideau River as a brighter, more open home with a stronger connection to its riverfront setting. The design respects the scale and character of the original house while introducing larger openings, vaulted ceilings, and more fluid living spaces oriented toward views of the trees and water.
Familiar exterior materials are given a contemporary expression through elongated white brick coursing and a black standing seam metal roof. Inside, a light palette complements the open living spaces. At the rear, stepped terraces extend the home toward the lawn and river, creating a gradual transition between the interior and the landscape.
